Douglas-Rose B. (Stanick) Kurowski, 94, passed away on Sat. Oct. 21, 2017 after a period of declining health. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years, Frank “Lefty” Kurowski, in 2014. Rose is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Mary Gaulin, Anne Wasiuk, John Stanick, Michael Stanick Sr., Stephen S. “Smokey” Stanick and Cecelia Stanick.

Born in Douglas, MA on August 24, 1923 she was the daughter of George and Sophie (Babish) Stanick. Rose was a lifelong resident of Douglas until her move to Webster Manor in 2013. Rose owned and operated Agnes Beauty Salon with locations in Douglas and Worcester, for over 50 years. She loved traveling to different countries with her husband, gardening, bird watching, and shopping especially at flea markets.

Her funeral will be held on Thurs. Nov. 2 from Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St., Douglas with a Memorial Funeral Mass at 10 am in St. Denis Church, 23 Manchaug St., Douglas.  Cremation burial will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Webster.  Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thurs. Nov 2 from 8:30-9:30am.  Donations in Rose’s memory may be made to the Autism Project of RI,1516 Atwood Ave., Johnston, RI  02919.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences for the lost of your dear loved one. My family and I have been comforted by God's promise found at John 5:28, 29 about a future resurrection of our loved ones. I hope this Bible verse brings you some comfort as well as many fond memories.
