Manchaug- Frances M. (Calnan) LaFreniere, 79, formerly of Whitins Rd., passed away on Sat., May 4th at Lydia Taft after a period of declining health. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Leo L. LaFreniere who died in 2019.
She is survived by her in-laws, Lucille LaFreniere of Uxbridge, Annette Boileau of Millbury, and Jeanette L. Pouliot of Whitinsville; nieces and nephews, Andrew LaFreniere and his wife Lisa, Joel LaFreniere and his significant other Alyson Tellier, Lisa-Marie Devries and her husband Michael, Jennifer Fontaine and her former husband Robert Fontaine, Christy Turley and her husband Tyler, Gerry Craven, Brock Diamond, and Gary Modoff; her great-nieces and nephews, Brielle Kennett and her husband Taydon, Katie Opatka and her husband Trevor, Emily Lafreniere, Violette Fontaine, Arielle Fontaine, Parker and Quinn Turley, and other extended family. She was predeceased by 3 siblings Theresa Eames, and Vivian Diamond.
Born in Worcester on April 23, 1945 she was the daughter of John W. and Bernice H. (Pluff) Calnan and grew up in both Northbridge and Uxbridge. She was a graduate of Uxbridge High School class of 1963. Mrs. LaFreniere was a Medical Transcriber for 25 years for Hammond Hospital in Worcester. Following she worked as a home health aide many years until her retirement in 2000.
Over the years, she enjoyed taking day trips to Maine, adventuring around admiring scenery, and finding new restaurants. She and Leo went daily to Dunkin Donuts for a coffee and donut and to meet with friends. She was a woman of great faith and was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church. Previously she was a member of the former Good Shepherd Church in Linwood and St. Anne’s Church in Manchaug. She will be sorely missed by her loving family
Her funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 10th at 10AM in St. Mary’s Church, 77 Mendon St., Uxbridge. Burial in Quabbin Park Cemetery, Ware, MA will follow. Calling hours in Tancrell-Jackman funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., will be held prior to mass from 8:30-9:30 AM.
