Douglas- Romeo R. Lavallee, 91, of Gilboa St. passed away on Tuesday April 30, 2024 at UMass University Campus in Worcester after an illness. His wife of 43 years, Mary T. (Landry) Lavallee died March 26, 2002.
He is survived by his 5 sons, David Lavallee and his significant other Melissa of Oxford, Michael Lavallee and his fiancé Vera of Mansfield, CT, Eric Lavallee and his wife Brenda of Gilbertville, MA, Brian Lavallee and his fiancé Patricia of Douglas, and Scott Lavallee of Four Oaks, NC; 2 daughters Laura Mowry and her companion Ron of Douglas, and Lisa Lavallee Rodgers and her significant other Danny Cadrin of Sutton; 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; a brother Ernest Lavallee and his wife Phyllis of Uxbridge; a sister Rosemary Galas of Millville; many nieces, nephews and his dog Lucky. He was brother of the late Evelyn Kloczkowski, Juliette Thomas, Loretta Reed, Herman Lavallee, Valmore Lavallee, and Frank Lavallee. He was also predeceased by his son-in-law Richard Rodgers.
Born in Uxbridge on July 31, 1932, he was the son of Herman A. and Ella D. (Lajoie) Lavallee and lived in Douglas 60 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era. Mr. Lavallee worked as a Union Laborer Local 22, Worcester working for E.J. Cross Construction Co., until his retirement in 1994. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed fishing, ice fishing, hunting, splitting wood, playing horseshoes, and doing yardwork. He will be remembered as a hardworking man with a great sense of humor. He will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved him.
His Funeral Home Service will be held on Saturday, May 4th at 10AM in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Uxbridge.
