Uxbridge- Joseph T. Barber Jr., 86, passed away on Tues. June 4, 2019 at The Overlook Home in Charlton after a period of declining health.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alberta J. (Seagrave) Barber, as well as 6 children, 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 3 siblings. He was predeceased by a daughter, and 3 siblings.

Born in Sutton on Dec. 28, 1932 Joseph was the son of Joseph T. Sr. and Jennie (Nelson) Barber, and grew up in Sutton. He has been a resident of Uxbridge the past 42 years. Joseph worked as a truck driver for CH Wagner out of Warwick, RI for 30+ years until his retirement in 1998. During his trucking career he was an avid CB Radio enthusiast going by “Boneman”, and greatly enjoyed talking to his many trucker buddies.  Joseph grew up on a farm and was very much into riding horses, and anything cowboy themed. He also enjoyed gardening, tinkering with Model A Tractors and old cars, and dressing up as Santa Clause every year visiting the local McDonald’s and passing out candy canes to the children “Breaker 19 this is Boneman signing off”.

Honoring his wishes, Joseph will be cremated. Memorial calling hours will be held on Thurs. June 20 from 5- 7 PM followed by a prayer service at 7 PM in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge.
