Uxbridge- Carrie E. (Brooks)  Doble, 76, of Port Charlotte FL, formerly of Uxbridge passed away Thurs. Jan. 31, 2019 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Pt. Charlotte after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family and friends.  Her husband of 30 years Albert F. Doble died in 2009.
     She is survived by her 2 sons Thomas F. Colonair Jr. and his wife Tammy of Douglas and Brian J. Colonair and his wife Karen of Sutton; 4 grandchildren Tara L. Colonair-Defilippo, Nick and Garrett Colonair and Michael Dunphy; a great-grandson Jacob; a brother Richard Brooks of Fall River; several nieces, nephews and her best friend and “partner in crime” Bobbie Ketering. She was the sister of the late Harold W. Brooks, Peter Brooks and Shirley M. Williams. Born in Uxbridge, MA on Nov. 6, 1942 she was daughter of the late Ovila P. and Gertrude A. (Winchell) Brooks and lived in Pt. Charlotte the past 15 years, previously living in Uxbridge most of her life.
     Carrie worked as a bartender for 28 years at the former Nick’s Café in Uxbridge. Previously she worked at Ethan Allen Furniture, Tupperware Plastics and several other area companies. She was educated in the Uxbridge public school system she enjoyed cruises where she traveled to Russia, Germany, Alaska, Hawaii and many other world destinations. She loved animals, playing cards and cribbage, the N.E. Patriots, with “Gronk” being her favorite player.
     Family was most important to Carrie.  She just loved spending time with them and creating lasting memories. She will be remembered for her tough exterior and her warm loving heart.
     According to her wishes there are no funeral services planned. A Celebration of Carrie's life will be held in the spring. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to Dog Orphans, 90 Webster St. Douglas, MA 01516.
