Whitinsville-George C. Rayner, Jr., 62, of Douglas Rd. passed away peacefully at his home on Thurs. Oct. 27.  He was predeceased by his wife Diane S. (Morvan) Rayner on March 21, 2016.  He is survived by his 2 daughters Terri L. Winslow and her husband Jon and Sara L. Leveille and her husband John both of Whitinsville; 6 grandchildren Lindzy and Kelsey Winslow, Abigail, Emma, John, and Elye Leveille; 2 sisters Jewel Howarth-Rayner of ME and Lee Carpenter of SC; 3 brothers Russell Rayner of Worcester, Samuel Rayner of VT, and Robert Rayner GA; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Jackie O’Connell. Born in Whitinsville, MA on April 3, 1954 he was the son the of late George C. and Sonja L. (Hallberg) Gove and lived in the area all of his life.
     George attended the Grafton School System and was a self-employed carpenter/Jack of all Trades many years until his retirement.  He was an excellent painter and his drawing was exceptional.  He enjoyed many activities throughout his life such as golfing, fishing, and gardening.  He also had a love of music and played the guitar.  In more recent years, he loved watching the Patriots.  A wonderful father and grandfather, he cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren most of all.  George will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.
     His funeral service will be held on Fri. Nov. 11 at 5:30 p.m. in Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St., Whitinsville.  Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Fri. Nov. 11 from 4 – 6 p.m.  A private burial will be held at a later date.  To leave a condolence message for the family, please visit
