Douglas- Seth D. Manning, 38, of Germantown, NY, formerly of Douglas, died unexpectedly at home from heart failure.
He is survived by his parents David R. and Carol A. (Signet) Manning of Douglas; Veronica Bentley, his long-time partner with whom he lived; a step-daughter Tia Bentley; a sister Rachel P. and her husband Kevin D. Caster of W. Hartford, CT; aunts, uncles, cousins, and his many furry friends, whom he loved and adored. Born in Worcester, MA on Nov. 23, 1977 he was raised in Douglas and lived in Germantown the past 8 years.
Mr. Manning worked for Rhinebeck Animal Hospital as a Veterinary Technician since 2007. A 1996 graduate of Douglas High School he was active in the percussion line of the school band. He played drums in several local garage-type bands and did some recorded studio work for a jazz ensemble in NY. He always had a love for animals and a passion for helping them.
His memorial service will be held Sat. Jan. 23 at 3 p.m. in Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St. Douglas. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sat. Jan. 23 from 12 noon to 3 p.m.
