Northbridge - Paul J. D’Alfonso, 48, from the Linwood section of Northbridge died Sun. Sep. 27 at Milford Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer.
     He is survived by his loving wife, Dawn E. Violette; 2 sons, Nicholas J. D’Alfonso and Antonio P. D’Alfonso; his sister Patricia Stefanick of Uxbridge; 2 brothers Richard D’Alfonso of Uxbridge, and James Waterman of Northbridge; as well as nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and many great friends. He was predeceased by his sister Charlene D’Alfonso in 2000, his brother Ronald D’Alfonso in 2015, and his brother-in-law Stanley Stefanick in 2009. Born in Worcester, MA on Jan. 31, 1967 he was the son of the late Gennaro and Eileen M. (Waterman) D’Alfonso and was a graduate of Uxbridge High School Class of 1985.  He graduated from Bridgewater State College in 1989.  He owned and operated his own masonry business for over 25 years.
     Paul loved his family and especially enjoyed coaching his son’s baseball teams and the High Hoops basketball program.  He was an avid golfer and was a long time member of the Whitinsville Golf Course.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Milford Hospital and the Dana Farber Cancer Care at Milford for all of their kind and compassionate care shown to Paul and his family.  
     His funeral will be held on Thurs. Oct. 1 from Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 1 Cross St. Whitinsville.  Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.  According to Paul’s wishes, a graveside cremation service for his brother Ronald D’Alfonso will also be held on Thurs. Oct. 1 at Pine Grove Cemetery, where he will lie in peace next to his brother.  Paul’s calling hours at the funeral home will be held Wed Sept. 30  from 4-8 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donation in Paul’s memory may be made to the Paul D’Alfonso Family Fund, c/o Bank of America, 158 N.
