During the height of the depression, her parents were able to send her to Rivier College in Nashua, NH. When her children were very young, Irene survived a major bout with breast cancer. After her children were educated at Good Shepherd School, as she was, she returned to the workforce. Irene was the Ladies Department Manager, at the former Fair Department Store. My heartfelt condolences are sent to all. My heart broke at Bingo last night when I heard of her passing. I played Bingo with Irene at the Knights of Columbus for several years. I enjoyed sitting with her and hearing stories of her family. It was an honor and pleasure to call her a friend. I will always remember and cherish my time with her.
