Northbridge-Charles R. Culgin Jr., 73, of 63 School St. Apt 203, died Sun. Feb. 26 at UMass Memorial Hospital after an illness.
     He is survived by a daughter Debra J. Valis and her husband Scott of Douglas; a son David R. Culgin of Punta Gorda FL; 2 grandchildren Jennifer Berkowitz of Northbridge and Cody Armstrong of Douglas; 2 great-grandchildren Kierra Kurtyka and Isabella Berkowitz; a sister Donna Culgin of Oceanside CA; and his former wife Barbara (DelDotto) Culgin of Douglas. Born in Boston on Aug. 7, 1938 he was son of Charles R. Sr. and Elizabeth (DePaul) Culgin and lived in Northbridge the past 9 years, previously living in California. He was also a longtime Holliston resident.
     Mr. Culgin worked in construction all his life. He was a job foreman and  site manager many years and later managed and maintained apartments and commercial buildings. He served in the U.S. Navy 4 years with duties abord the USS John Paul Jones. He will be remembered as a quiet family man who enjoyed being at home.  The family would like to thank the staff at Blackstone Dialysis Center in Milford for their care and friendship.
    His funeral will be held Fri. March 2 at 11 a.m. in Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St. Whitinsville. Burial will follow in Milton cemetery, 211 Centre St. Milton. Calling hours at the funeral home are Fri. March 2 from 9 to 11 a.m. Donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.

My deepest sympathies to each and everyone of you. I miss him already as we had become good friends and I was not ready for this! I know he is at peace now that all the medical procedures have stopped! For this I am grateful.
