Northbridge- Irene  “Mickey” (Curran) St. Martin, 101 passed away on Sat. June 18 2016 at Beaumont Nursing & Rehab. Ctr.  She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years Irenee St. Martin in 1984.  She is survived by her only sister Helena (Curran) Lucier of Bradenton, FL and her children Peter Lucier and Paula (Lucier) Tatro.  Irene also leaves many nieces and nephews, Godchildren, and friends on both the East and West coasts, especially Carolyne Baron, Linda Bulen, Irene & Lil Chenevert, Tom & Dolores Gelinas, and Doris St. Martin. Born in Northbridge, MA on January 26, 1915 she was the daughter of Peter P. and Claudia (Campbell) Curran.
     She worked at Whitin Machine Works and Telecron before moving to California where she lived for 25 years and worked for Northrop Grumman.
Mickey enjoyed cooking for everyone, knitting, bowling, taking courses at local colleges and playing cards with her many friends every week. She loved her Saturday card games and her Thursday lunches with her “crew”.  She was a kind and generous woman that had a smile for everyone and really enjoyed a good joke.   Mickey will be greatly missed by those who loved her, especially Helena, and the group she called her Holiday Family; Agnes Beaulieu, Fr. Michael Broderick, Mary Contino, Fr. Dennis Yesalonia, and her three Fr. Juans (Echavarria, Herrera, & Escudero).
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the doctors and nurses that took care of Mickey these last six months at Milford Hospital, St. Camillus, Beaumont Nursing & Hospice,  especially Heather Hough and everyone at Whitney Place in Northbridge, as well as Dr. Erika Pommett and her nurse Leah.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Mickey’s memory may be made to St. Patrick’s Church Renovation Fund, PO Box 60, Whitinsville, MA 01588 or the Northbridge Association of Churches (NAC) Food Pantry, 20 Highland St., Whitinsville, MA  01588.
     Her memorial funeral Mass will be held on Fri. July 1 at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville.  Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.  Calling hours at Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St., Whitinsville will be held Thurs.
