Whitinsville- Frederick W. Kreuzinger, 82, formerly of Country Club Dr. and Benson Rd. passed away on Thurs. Feb. 11 after an illness. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Marie P. (Scott) Kreuzinger; 2 sons, Scott F. Kreuzinger and his wife MaryBeth of Franklin and Craig S. Kreuzinger and his wife Jennifer of Whitinsville; 2 grandchildren, Evan and Isabella Kreuzinger; and several friends. Born in Brooklyn, NY on June 6, 1933 he was the son of Fritz and Frieda (Martin) Kreuzinger and lived in Whitinsville for 55 years.
After graduating from Worcester Technical Institute he went on to earn his BA & MBA at Clark University in Worcester. Fred worked as a Quality Assurance Manager for Neles-Jamesbury Corp. in Worcester and later for United Tool in Millbury several years until his retirement. Previously he worked for the former Whitin Machine Works in Whitinsville.
Fred enjoyed chess, reading, smoking his cigars on the back deck, watching baseball, dining out and Sunday dinners with his family. He also loved cruising and travelling especially to Florida and Cape Cod. He loved his “adopted” dog Damon. He served on the Northbridge Finance Committee and was a member of St. Peter’s Church. He received the Seton Award in 1988 from the Diocese of Worcester. He coached his son's little league teams.
His funeral will be held on Mon. Feb. 15 from Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St., Whitinsville with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Peters Church, 39 Church Ave., Northbridge. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Mon. Feb. 15 from 9:00 – 10:30. In lieu of flowers, donations in Fred’s memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Assoc., 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
