Charlton – William J. Lodi, 85, of Partridge Hill Rd., passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 15, 2025, following an illness. He is survived by his significant other of 30 years, Jeannine G. (Doyon) LaPan; his son, Drew Lodi of Marlborough; his daughter, Bethanne Sylvia of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Zachary, Kameron, and Lily; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his son, Matthew W. Lodi, in 2020 and was the brother of the late Joseph Lodi.
Born in Boston, MA on January 21, 1940, he was the son of Catherine (Long) Jamack and was raised in Marlborough. He was educated in the Marlborough Public School System. He had resided in Charlton for the past two years, previously living in Uxbridge.
Mr. Lodi took great pride in his career as a Supervisor for I.G. Roller Co. in Marlborough, where he worked for many years. He later owned and operated his own printer roller company for a decade before becoming a Real Estate Appraiser in 1991. He retired in 2020. Bill was a proud U.S. Navy Vietnam-era veteran, serving aboard the destroyer U.S.S. Charles H. Roan as a Radio Operator.
Bill loved golf and was a devoted 30-year member of the Marlborough Country Club, where he formed many lasting friendships. He enjoyed listening to country music, was an enthusiastic baseball fan, and especially loved watching the Boston Red Sox. Known for his hearty appetite and a particular fondness for sweets—especially candy—Bill will be remembered as a warm, caring man with a generous heart who was always willing to help others. Jeannine was profoundly important to him, as were his children.
His family would like to extend a special thank-you to the Department of Veterans Affairs, Cornerstone Caregiving, and Care Central VNA & Hospice for their compassionate support.
Following cremation, a Memorial Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 25th at 11 AM in St. Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Marlborough. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to Veterans, Inc., 69 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605.
