Whitinsville – William G. Demague, 94, of Main St. died Mon. Oct. 19 at Franklin Health & Rehab. Ctr. after an illness.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Helen D. (Kozak) Demague; 2 daughters Sharon L. Duquette of Whitinsville and Cynthia J. O’Neill and her husband Donald of Centerville; 2 grandchildren; Jennifer and Christopher; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his 2 brothers, Reginald and Raymond Demague. Born in Montreal P.Q., Canada on March 25, 1921 he was the son of John Gordon and Alice M. (White) Demague and lived in Whitinsville most of his life.
Bill was educated in the Northbridge School System and worked as a fork lift operator for the former Whitin Machine Works for 45 years, retiring in 1984. He served as a sharpshooter in the U.S. Army during WWII earning the Purple Heart and 4 battle Stars while in Normandy. He was also awarded the combat infantry badge. He was a member of the American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans, the Northbridge Seniors, and the VFW.
