Northbridge- Walterine A. (Dawicki) Walczak, 98, of Highland St., passed away at her home on Thursday, February 6, 2025 after being stricken ill. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 47 years, Leonard J. Walczak Sr. in 1998.
She is survived by 4 children Stephen P. Walzcak and his wife Leslie of Belchertown, Leonard J. Walczak Jr. of Northbridge, Stanley J. Walzcak and his wife Heidi of Dracut, and Mary J. Baker of Northbridge; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 5 brothers, Stanley, Walter, Raymond, Edward, and Frank Dawicki, and 4 sisters, Helen Wohlgezogen, Stephania Sansoucie, Alice McLeod, and Marion Dawicki.
Born in Northbridge on September 29, 1926 she was the daughter of Stanley J. and Mary J. (David) Dawicki and grew up and lived in Northbridge all her life. She was educated from the Northbridge public school systems. Mrs. Dawicki worked for the Kartaigner Hat Shop in Upton as well as Imco Plastics Co., in South Grafton. Walterine also helped with the bookkeeping for her husband’s local disposal company for many years.
A woman of great faith, she was a member of St. Patrick’s Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, taking care of her grandchildren, grand “fur babies”, and cooking.
Following cremation, Walterine’s graveside funeral service will be privately held at the convenience of her family. A continued celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 31st, with details to be announced at a later date.
