Worcester- Todd W. Cardwell, 34, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021 unexpectedly at home.
He is survived by his mother Edith A. “Edie”Cardwell and her significant other Kent Vinson of Douglas; his father, Thomas J. Cardwell of Millbury; 6 siblings, Samantha E. Brown and his brother-in-law Matt of Millbury, Apryl K. Cardwell and her fiancé Luis Zayas of Worcester, Cody J. Cardwell of Millbury, Zachary T. Cardwell of Lowell, Seth L. Cardwell also of Lowell, and Ethan M. Cardwell and his wife Cecilia of Vancouver, B.C.; 3 nieces, Sienna Rose, Freya Primrose, and Kendra Azalea; his maternal grandmother, Ruth Boyda of Worcester and several aunts, uncles, and cousins, including his cousin Brittany Davis whom he would go to heavy metal concerts with; and many good friends.
Born in Worcester on August 7, 1987 Todd grew up in and attended Auburn public schools. He earned his high school diploma and an Electrical Engineering Certificate from Job Corps in Grafton. He worked many years for the U.S Postal Service at the Central Mass Mail Processing Center in Shrewsbury.
He was an avid gamer, his favorite game was World of Warcraft, where he was known as “Sulphur or Sulph.” He also enjoyed watching the Boston Bruins, listening to heavy metal music, playing guitar, reading the Guinness Book of World Records, and hanging out with friends and family. He had a passion for weightlifting and could lift an impressive amount of weight, his last recorded deadlift was 375 pounds, and his back squat was 345 pounds. He also enjoyed dining out and loved to eat sushi. He will be remembered as a friendly, genuine, and awesome guy. He was an amazing son and brother, who always loved, cared for, and protected his family and close friends.
A quote from one of Todd’s favorite movies The Big Lebowski that very appropriately describes Todd… “Sometime there’s a dude, well he’s the dude for his time and place.” Todd brought many people together with his contagious smile and voracious laugh. We all love you Todd.
Calling hours for Todd will be held on Thursday, December 30th from 4-7 pm in Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St., Douglas. A service of remembrance will be held at 7pm.
