Whitinsville- Thomas P. Lessard, 57, of Willow St. passed away Thurs. June 11, 2026 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston after an illness.
He is survived by his mother, Frances M. (Reno) Lessard of Whitinsville; his step-brother, Alex Broom of Whitinsville; his aunt, Yvette, and her husband Wayne Cunningham of Freetown, MA; several cousins; his longtime friend and roommate Ed Hall; and many other close friends. His father Victor L. Lessard passed away Aug. 30, 2012. Born in Worcester on Dec. 4, 1968, he lived in Whitinsville all his life.
Mr. Lessard worked with the developmentally disabled at the former Evergreen Agency in Milford and later at the former Alternatives Unlimited in Whitinsville. Previously he was employed with his dad in the machine shop at Boston Digital Co. He was educated at Our Lady of the Valley School and was a graduate of Blackstone Valley Technical High School.
Tommy was well known and could often be seen riding his bicycle around town. He was a fan of the Grateful Dead and Max Creek, and travelled to many of their shows. He was active in the No One Walks Alone Recovery Support Center on Spring St. where he had many friends. He enjoyed playing pool and shuffleboard at Plummer Place and visited Twin’s Nutrition daily for a protein shake. A New England Patriots fan, he loved football, the outdoors, hiking, and his family’s basset hound Dasher. He will be missed for his kind spirit and his love for his family and friends.
His Memorial Funeral Service will be held Fri. June 26 at 11:30 am in Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St. Cremation burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Fri. June 26 from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Memorial donations may be made in Tom’s memory to No One Walks Alone (NOWA), 9 Spring St. Whitinsville, MA 01588.
