Northbridge- Theresa M. (Bernard) Montville, 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 11, 2022 at her home, with her loving family by her side. Her husband, Willard J. Montville, died January 30, 1994.

     She is survived by her 2 children, Donna M. Lariviere of Northbridge and Paul W. Montville and his wife Keri of Fitchburg; 7 grandchildren, Kristin Toloczko and her husband Jon of Northbridge, Trevor Montville and his wife Danielle of Killingly, CT, Erica Lariviere of Northbridge, Nicholas Stebbins of Fitchburg, Troy Montville and his wife Sarah of Franklin, Nathan Stebbins of Fitchburg, and Cheyenne Montville of Fitchburg; 4 great-grandchildren, Aubrey, whom she affectionately called “her princess,” Evelyn, Kendra, and Tommy; her sister, Pauline Malinowski of Northbridge, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Roger Bernard and Georgette Bishop.

Born in Uxbridge, MA on December 23, 1930, she was the daughter of Alfred and Marie L. (Letourneau) Bernard and grew up in Linwood. She lived in Linwood for 37 years until she and her husband had their house built in Northbridge on Highland St. in 1967. Always a hard-working woman, she worked for the former Rockdale Mill, Telechron in Ashland (formerly GE), then for Zymark in Hopkinton where she worked into her 80’s, retiring in 2011.

Theresa and her husband loved travelling, both inside and outside of the U.S., and they frequently went ballroom dancing at the former Lakeview Ballroom in Mendon. She also enjoyed taking trips to Foxwoods, playing bingo, and playing cards with friends. She and her great-granddaughter, Aubrey, would often play Rack-O at home for scratch ticket prizes. She was an animal lover, especially her great-grand dog Tucker, aka “Poopsie,” and was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. Above all, she loved all of her family and looked forward to holidays and weekly family dinners. 

    Theresa’s Memorial Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 11 AM in St. Patricks, Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville. Cremation burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Theresa’s memory may be made to: Dog Orphans Inc., P.O.
