Susan Saster Obituary

Auburn - Susan M. (Cencak) Saster, age 62 of Auburn passed away at home on Jan. 30, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Susan was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing.

She is survived by her beloved husband Frank; son Mario, and his children Angelina and Dylan; her sister Mary and husband Neal Riley of Millbury; and her nephew and niece, Neal and Lani Riley. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Kyoko and Albert Cencak.

Susan grew up in Whitinsville, MA. She graduated from Northbridge High School, and from Bryant College of Rhode Island with a medical secretarial degree. She worked for Doctor Barron of Worcester, and for the Reliant Medical Group for 25 years in Auburn and Millbury. She always had a smile and a joke for her beloved co-workers.

Susan had a variety of interests and talents. She enjoyed cross-stitching, even winning awards for her intricate work. Susan also crocheted and knit beautiful pieces for family and friends. She was an avid reader of many genres, with a fondness for Steven King novels. Susan was a master of jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and had a passion for cooking. She loved traveling to Maine and to Cape Cod. She also enjoyed the occasional lucky junket to Foxwoods with her sister and brother-in-law. Though not popular with everyone in her extended family, Susan and her son were fervent fans of the New York Yankees. She would often be seen wearing her Yankees’ cap.

Susan forever touched all those who came to know her. We hope she is now at peace.
