Susan A. (Raiche) George

Susan A. (Raiche) George, 78, formerly of Prentice Rd., passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023 after a brief illness. 

She is survived by her son Steven M. George and his wife Linda of Whitinsville, her Godson, John Wypyszinski and his wife Lisa of Millis. She was predeceased by her aunt Constance Fallon and uncle James Fallon. Born in Central Falls, RI on April 29, 1945 she was the daughter of Albert W. and Anita (Deslauriers) Raiche and was raised in Linwood. 

Mrs. George was educated at the Good Shepherd School and Northbridge High School.  She worked many years as the lead Administrative Assistant for the Division of Children and Families in their Whitinsville office until her retirement. She had also worked as a cook at St. Patrick’s Church several years. 

Susan loved nature and was an avid animal lover. She enjoyed flower gardening, bird watching and visiting Scarborough Beach.  A drum major of the Pulaski Brass Band in Webster, she was also involved with Northbridge High School’s Music Booster Club. Susan was a great cook and an avid Boston Bruins and Red Sox fan. Back in the day, she was also a Den Mother of Boy Scout Troop 155 in Whitinsville. A woman of great faith, she was a member of St. Patrick’s Church.

Her funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 18th at 10AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville. Calling hours will be held from Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St. Whitinsville on Thursday August 17th from 4-7 PM.
