Shirley A. Dwight

Uxbridge - Shirley A. Dwight, 77, of 99 E. Hartford Ave. Crown and Eagle Apts. formerly of Morse Rd., Manchaug died suddenly Sat., June 23, 2012, after being stricken ill. She is survived by her fiance' Romeo R. Lavallee of Douglas; 4 children, Joyce A. Frankin of Worcester, Clifford E. LaMere and his wife Kelly of Florida, Sally A. Lavallee and her husband Brian of Douglas and Andrew C. LaMere of Whitinsville; 23 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert Beauregard of Ohio and many nephews and nieces. Her first husband, Clifford E. LaMere died in 1971 and her second husband Leon Dwight died in 1999. Born in Whitinsville on May 18, 1935 she was daughter of Augustus "Gus" A. and Noella M. (Malo) Beauregard and grew up in Rockdale and later lived in Manchaug. She had lived at Crown & Eagle the last 12 years.
Shirley worked as a spinner at Bernat Woolen Mill and the Stanley Woolen Mill many years. She later worked in the bakery at the former Phillips Market, retiring when she was 62. She was educated in the former St. Peter's school and graduated from Northbridge High School. She enjoyed reading, long walks, fishing and being active. She especially loved being with her family and her fiance' Romeo. Shirley was an excellent cook. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church and was once part of the chorus.

Her funeral service will be held on Mon., July 2 from Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St., Whitinsville at 10:30 a.m. with a graveside funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Providence Rd., Whitinsville. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley's memory may be made to American Cancer Society , PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or the American Diabetes Association , 1701 N. Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311.
