Uxbridge- Shawn B. Danforth, 38, of W. Hartford Ave. passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023 after being stricken ill.
He is survived by his wife Gabrielle (Leger) Danforth of Rutland; his daughter Sophia R. Danforth of Rutland; his mother Sandra C. (Fisher) Mundell and her husband Raymond Jr. of Savannah, TN; his father Donald A. Danforth Jr. and his life partner Beverly Fanion of Uxbridge; his maternal grandmother Claire M. (Barr) Fisher of Savannah, TN; a brother Raymond Mundell of Oxford; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. A special thank-you to Tina Paul who helped raise Shawn. He was predeceased by grandparents Donald A. and Dorothy (Avenengo) Danforth and George H. Fisher.
Born in Worcester, MA on November 14, 1984, Shawn lived in Leicester, Oxford, and Uxbridge over the years. He was a graduate of Oxford High School and was involved in their ROTC program. He was employed as a Service Technician for Polar Beverages in Worcester for 21 years and worked at the Oxford Walmart during high school.
Shawn loved metal detecting and bottle digging and recently got into magnet fishing. Recently he discovered two old fashioned granite drills in a local quarry. He was fascinated with WWII history. Over the years he enjoyed scary movies, deer hunting with relatives and friends, audio books and trips with his family. He collected and seasoned his food with hot sauces from all over. “The hotter the better”, he often said.
His Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 29 at 10 am in the Second Congregational Church of Douglas, 289 Main St. Douglas. Burial will follow in West Sutton Cemetery. Calling hours at Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St., Douglas are Thursday, September 28 from 4 to 7 pm.
