Rose Manyak Obituary

Douglas- Rose M. (Beresik) Manyak, 99, of North St., passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021. Her husband of 49 years, Frank P. Manyak Sr. died September 24, 1994.

     She is survived by her son Frank P. Manyak Jr. of Upton; many nieces and nephews and good friends. She was recently predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Gail L. Shackelton Manyak. She was sister of the late Joseph Beresik, Andrew Beresik, Adam Beresik, Ann Laskowski, and Eugene Beresik who was killed during the Vietnam conflict.

     Born in Webster, MA on August 23, 1922 she was the daughter of Martin and Theresa (Kopas) Beresik and lived in Douglas since 1945. 

    Mrs. Manyak worked many years in the Payroll Dept. and in the Credit Union for the Hayward Schuster Woolen Co.,  retiring in 1966. She later volunteered at Whitinsville and Milford Hospitals. She was a graduate of Bartlett High School and a longtime member and past president of the Slovak Catholic Sokol. A faithful member of St. Denis Church, she was active in their Catholic Women’s Council and served as a past president. She enjoyed the Douglas and Sutton Senior Centers, and was member of the Douglas Historical Society.
