Ronald Edward Pierpont

Douglas/ Sutton- Ronald Edward Pierpont, 78, of Cook St., Douglas died on Sunday, January 5, 2025, after being stricken ill at home while battling with cancer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Irene Celeste (Keyes) Pierpont in 2016.

         He is survived by his son Aaron Edward Pierpont  of Worcester and his beloved granddaughter Alana Pierpont of Whitinsville; 3 siblings, Richard Pierpont and his wife Janice of Uxbridge; William Pierpont and his wife Gail of Whitinsville, and Shirley Senecal and her husband Gerard of Manchaug. He also leaves many nieces and nephews including his special niece Diana Such and her husband Steven Such of Douglas. He was the brother of the late Donald Pierpont. 

         Born in Mars Hill, Maine on September 16, 1946 he was the son of the late Leland Bosworth and Nellie Madeline (Hallowell) Pierpont and grew up in the Douglas/ Sutton area. He was a graduate of Sutton High School class of 1964. Ron worked for the former Whitin Machine Works and Worcester Machine Works as a machinist and then as an Insurance Broker for the East Douglas Insurance Company. In his retirement, he also worked for Imperial Motors doing automobile transport services. 

         Ronald was very active in town politics and was a former Sutton Selectman and Moderator for several years. He was an outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting, and in his youth was a member of the Singletary Rod & Gun Club. He also enjoyed researching, having a great interest in his family genealogy. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Alana, and will be sorely missed by al who knew and loved him.

         Mr. Pierpont's memorial calling hours will be held from Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St., Douglas on Sunday, January 19th from 1-3PM.
