Whitinsville- Roland W. “Rollie” Beaudoin, 90, of Fletcher St., passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at UMass University Campus Hospital in Worcester, after a period of declining health, with his loving family at his side. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Gloria V. (Poulin) Beaudoin on October 24, 2022.
He is survived by his 2 children Robert R. Beaudoin and his wife Cathy of Whitinsville, Linda M. Sasso of Worcester; 3 grandchildren, Kelly Veau of Manchaug, Caitlyn Beaudoin of Whitinsville, and Trevor Sasso of Burlington, VT; 2 great-grandchildren; his brother, Roger J. Beaudoin of Whitinsville; several nieces, nephews, and many great friends.
Born in McLennan, Alberta, Canada on November 10, 1935, he was the son of William and Marie Rose (Dentinger) Beaudoin and grew up and was a lifelong resident of Whitinsville. A graduate of Northbridge High School, Class of 1954, he attended Holy Cross College in Worcester, where he studied accounting.
Rollie began his career as a payroll clerk at Whitin Machine Works and later at Whitin Machine Works Credit Union. He was then employed at the Blackstone Valley Credit Union and Webster First Credit Union, retiring in 2001 as Branch Manager. In addition, he was a longtime fixture at Foxy Travel in Linwood, where he enjoyed working as a travel escort for 25 years.
Rollie was deeply involved in the Credit Union community, serving as Chairman of the Worcester Chapter of the Credit Union League of Massachusetts for ten years and as Director of the former Central Credit Union Fund for nine years. He was also a Third-Degree member of the Mumford Council 365 Knights of Columbus.
A devoted and active member of St. Patrick’s Church, Rollie generously gave his time and leadership in many capacities, including Past Chairman of the Parish Council, Chairman of the Bishop’s Fund, Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and member of the Renovation Committee.
Rollie enjoyed a full and active life. He was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast who also found pleasure in reading, gardening, traveling, and cruising—especially trips to Disney World. This past summer, he attended several WooSox and Railers games and enjoyed some of his favorite Coney Island hot dogs. He also played golf and served for ten years as Secretary of the Ed Baldwin Golf League.
In recent years, Rollie attended the adult day program at Summit Elder Care in Webster, where he formed many meaningful friendships. His family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Golden Pond Assisted Living in Hopkinton for the exceptional care and kindness shown to him during his final month.
His Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 10th at 10 AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 9th from 4-6 PM in Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St., Whitinsville. Please omit flowers.
