Linwood- Roger J. Laporte, 87, formerly of Lake St., passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024 at The Life Care Center of Auburn after a period of declining health.
He is survived by his sister Marie Anger of E. Hartford, CT, and several nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Ernest “Cy” Laporte, Therese “Tery” Babineau, and Rita Brooks.
Born in the Linwood section of Uxbridge on June 29, 1937 he was the son of Emile and Marie Ange (Gazaille) Laporte and grew up in Uxbridge. He was educated from Good Shepherd School in Uxbridge. Mr. Laporte worked for the former Baystate Welding Co. in Grafton, and also for Tech Industries in Woonsocket until his retirement in 2001.
Roger enjoyed watching Nascar racing, and supporting his local sports teams. He was a very reserved man, but always enjoyed the company of neighbors, friends, and especially his family.
His family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Life Care Center of Auburn for their outstanding care shown to Roger during the past few years.
As to his wishes, Roger will be cremated and his graveside burial service will be held on Saturday, October 26th at 10 AM in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Granite St., Uxbridge.
