Sutton- Robert R. “Bud” Salvas Jr., 52, of W. Sutton Rd. passed away Sun. July 23, 2023 at home following a 4 month illness. His family was by his side.
He is survived by daughters Brianna L. Salvas and her fiancé Jacob Coles of Worcester and Savanna K. Salvas of Douglas; 2 brothers Jon Salvas and Daniel R. Salvas of Sutton; a grandson Travis Coles; 2 nieces, 2 nephews, and many good friends.
Born in Worcester, MA on July 31, 1970, he was son of the late Robert R. Sr. and Margaret A. “Peg” (Deeter) Salvas. He lived in Sutton all of his life.
Bud worked for the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office as a Corrections Officer. He was proud to have this career at the W. Boylston House of Corrections the past 11 years. Previously he was employed in Construction. He was a graduate of Sutton High School, Class of ‘88 and served 7 years in the US Army National Guard, Milford Barracks.
Bud loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and playing poker. An avid hiker, he got a lot out of spending time in the mountains around New England. Mt. Monadnock in NH was one of his favorites. He belonged to Singletary Rod and Gun Club. Bud was friendly and social and loved his family and friends. He will be missed very much.
His Memorial Funeral Service will be held Sat. Aug. 5 at noon in Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St. Whitinsville. Calling hours will be from 10 am until the start of his service at noon.
