Uxbridge – Rita M. (Lamontagne) Robarge, 85, passed peacefully on May 27, 2021, at Milford Hospital surrounded by her devoted family.
She is survived by her son David P. Robarge and his partner Nancy of Uxbridge. Three grandchildren, Sarah Bowman and her husband Shawn of Newfane, NY, Heather Robarge of Webster, and Brian Robarge also of Webster. Six great grandchildren, Kylie, Adrianna, Christopher, Alexander, Daniel and Jackson. A sister, Pauline Lamontagne and her husband Paul of Uxbridge and a brother, Maurice Lamontagne and his wife Rosalie of Whitinsville. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Paul A. Robarge and her son, Michael P. Robarge.
Rita was born March 21,1936 in Whitinsville, the daughter of Alyre and Aurore (Isabelle) Lamontagne. Rita grew up in the Linwood section of Uxbridge and graduated from St. Mary’s Central Catholic High School in Milford, class of 1954. She worked for 20 years as Ladies Dept. Manager for the former Fair Department Store in Whitinsville.
Rita enjoyed trips to the Cape and New Hampshire with her family, crocheting, knitting and doing crossword puzzles.
As a woman of great faith, Rita taught CCD classes at St. Patrick’s School in Whitinsville. She was a Regent of the Daughters of Isabella of St. Mary’s Church in Uxbridge, and a Communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Whitinsville.
A calling hour at Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring Street, Whitinsville, will be held from 9:30-10:30am on Friday, June 4, 2021, followed by a Mass at 11am in St. Patrick’s Church, 1 Cross Street, Whitinsville.
