Uxbridge- Richard A. Roy, 79, of Sutton St. passed away Monday July 8, 2024 at Blackstone Valley Health and Rehab in Whitinsville. His wife of 37 years Maureen L. (Martin) Roy died October 19, 2007.
Richard is survived by his sister Blanche L. Sherman and her husband Dick of Aileen, TX; cousins, nieces and nephews. Born in Worcester, MA on December 2, 1944 he was the son of Alfred J. and Maybel (Racicot) Roy and was raised in Linwood. He lived on Sutton Street 46 years.
Mr. Roy was employed at Fenwall Corporation in Ashland as a spray painter for many years. He was educated at the Good Shepherd School in Linwood and graduated from Uxbridge High School. A talented wood worker, he built many cribbage boards and beautiful Adirondack chairs over the years. He also was an avid baseball fan. Most importantly however, Richard was generous and loved family events. He never showed up empty handed and always brought gifts for everyone.
His Graveside Funeral Service will be held Monday July 22 at 11 am in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Granite St. Uxbridge. A calling period at Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St. Whitinsville will be held prior to his service from 10 to 10:30.
