Uxbridge- Richard A. Mason, 88, of Uxbridge passed away peacefully on Sun. May 1, 2022 after an illness. His wife of 45 years, Kathleen M. (Wojcik) Mason died June 4, 2000.
He is survived by 4 sons, Kenneth R. Mason and his wife Carol of Sturbridge, Michael A. Mason and his wife Karen, Steven J. Mason and his wife Darlene, and Timothy J. Mason and his wife Pamela all of Uxbridge; 9 grandchildren Daniel Mason, Lindsay Mason, Julianne Gupta, Lisa Lavallee, Kevin Mason, Keith Mason, Nicholas Mason, Elizabeth Mason, and Samuel Mason; 5 great-grandchildren Thea, Vivian, Cameron, Mackenzie, and Margaret, as well as many nieces and nephews, and good friends. He was the brother of the late Ronald A. Mason. A special thank you to Lisa Lavallee for being his personal caregiver.
Born in Palmer, MA on Feb. 2, 1934 he was the son of Albert A. and Florence M. (Lapointe) and grew up in Blackstone. He was a graduate of Blackstone High School and served 4 years in the US Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Tampa and Germany. Mr. Mason worked in the maintenance department at Coz Chemical in Northbridge for 30 years, retiring in 1998. He had been a resident of Uxbridge the past 60 years.
Dick Mason was a classic car enthusiast who restored many beautiful antique cars over the years, and enjoyed working on them. He passed this enthusiasm and love for cars to his four sons. He also enjoyed antique toys, swimming in his pool, and meeting his friends for coffee. Dick was a great guy, well-liked by everyone.
Calling hours will be held at Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge on Thursday, May 5th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. His funeral service will be held on Fri. May 6th in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge at 10AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
