Richard Jure Obituary

Douglas- Richard R. Jure, 87, of Blue Bird Ln. passed away Wed June 30, 2021 after an illness.
      He is survived by his wife of 60 years Roberta J. (Chiuchiolo) Jure; 5 grandchildren Danny, Tanya, Scarlett, Joslin, and Abby; a sister Alice Becktold in Florida; and several nieces and nephews. His son Richard C. Jure died in 1996 and great-granddaughter Lucy Jure died in 2020. Born in Worcester, MA on July 28, 1933 he was the son of Richard J. and Anna (Toczylowski) Jure and lived in Douglas 27 years. Previously he lived in Northbridge and Florida .
      Mr. Jure worked at the former General Motors Co. in Framingham 28 years. A member of the United Auto Workers Union he served as a Union Benefits Rep as well. He graduated from High School in NY and Worcester Junior College, then served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. A lover of bluegrass music, Richard and his wife would drive from Maine to Homestead, FL to enthusiastically attend shows. He enjoyed the City of New Orleans for their music, food, and culture. He loved travel with one of his favorite places being Yellowstone National Park. Mostly however family was most important to Richard. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
      His Graveside Funeral Service, with Military Honors, will be held Sat. July 10th at 10 am at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Granite St. Uxbridge. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations in Richard’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis TN 38105.
