Uxbridge- Richard D. “Richie” Kearnan, 49, of Hazel St. passed away with strength and grace, on Sat. April 30, 2022 after a one year battle with ALS.
He is survived by his wife Angela S. (Pratt) Kearnan whom he shared 28 wonderful years with; his loving daughter, Ashley Kearnan of Uxbridge; 2 brothers, Kevin R. Kearnan and his wife Maureen, and Keith R. Kearnan and his wife Kristen all of Uxbridge; 2 sisters, Kristine “Teeny” Baptiste and her husband Don of Pt. Charlotte, FL, and Patricia K. Burke and her husband Robert of Boise, ID; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many great friends.
Born in Woonsocket,RI on April 2, 1973 he was son of the late Richard D. and JudyAnn (Knapik) Kearnan and lived in Uxbridge all his life. He was proud of the fact he lived in the same home since the age of 3.
Richie worked many years in the construction industry and later was Assistant Superintendent for the Medway Highway Dept., a career he throughly enjoyed. He was a graduate of Uxbridge High School, Class of ‘91 where he played football.
He loved fishing at Wallum Lake, Hog Island, and Race Point at the Cape and was recently presented the Honorary Lifetime Membership Pin from the Uxbridge Rod and Gun Club. He looked forward to St. Patrick’s Day, enjoyed gardening, animals, and working on his lawn. He took great pride in his yard.
Always on the go, Richie was a man about town, and loved hanging with his lifelong friends. He loved being a townie but his family was most important to him. He will be remembered as a hard working yet happy go lucky gentleman, who always planned for perfection.
His funeral service will be held Thurs. May 5th at 11 AM in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd. Uxbridge. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
