Northbridge- Raymond E. Legassey, 93, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024 after a period of declining health. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Gloria A. (Mason) Legassey who died in 2008.
He is survived by his daughter, Robin Lessard of Rockdale; 6 grandchildren; 1 great- grand daughter, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by 2 sons, Steven R. Legasseyy in 1990, and Russell E. Legassey in 1999, as well as his siblings, Frank Legassey, Roger “Buck” Legassey, Alice Mateychuk, and Irene Dion.
Born in Grafton on Jan. 15, 1931 Raymond was the son of William and Alexina (Farland) and grew up and attended school in South Grafton. He proudly served in the U.S Army durin the Korean War era and was stationed in Germany. Raymond was a hardworked and was head of maintenance for St. Camillus nursing home for 32 years, before his retirement in 1995.
He really enjoyed the outdoors and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles. Ray also enjoyed building model air planes and staining glass.
