Thompson CT- Ralph L. Hopkinson III, 71, of Thompson, formerly of Douglas passed away suddenly on Saturday February 1, 2025 after being stricken ill.
He is survived by his two children Heath E. Hopkinson of Thompson and Hailie B. Hopkinson of Douglas; 3 grandchildren Kolten Hopkinson, Kori Hopkinson, and Aubrie Hopkinson; his former wife Linda M. (Jones) Hopkinson of Douglas; two sisters Janice G, Brewster of Wilton, NH and Candice L. Cameron of Clinton, CT; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Dale Hopkinson. He also leaves his two dogs Diesel and Nelly. Born in Attleboro, MA on February 26, 1953, he was son of the late Ralph L. Jr. and Lillian M. (Higson) Hopkinson and grew up in Attleboro. He lived in Thompson the past two years, previously living in Douglas 45 years.
A hard worker, Mr. Hopkinson was a self-employed Chief Inspector on natural gas pipelines. Previously he worked for Tennessee Gas in Hopkinton. He retired in February 2024. A 1971 graduate of Attleboro High School, he also attended the Wentworth Institute of Technology. A die hard Chevy guy, Ralph loved his old Nova and enjoyed drag racing his car throughout New England. He loved to dance and enjoyed taking care of his yard.
Following cremation his Memorial Calling Hours will be held on Saturday February 15, 2025 from 12:30 to 2:30 pm in Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St. Douglas.
