Northbridge- Rachel Lillian Savage, 89, of Uxbridge and formerly of Northbridge, passed away peacefully after a short illness at UMass Hospital in Worcester on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 surrounded by her children.
She was the beloved wife of the late Robert George Savage who passed in 2008 after 52 wonderful years together. Rachel is survived by her three children, Stephen Savage and his wife Barbara of Milford, Paula Fisette and her husband Robert of Uxbridge, and Deb DeSantis and Jeff Kane of Northbridge; 9 loving grandchildren, Kelly, Scott, Lori. Eli, Sarah, Cassie, David, Anthony, and Matthew; 11 great-grandchildren, and her sister-in-law, Judy Savage of Rutland.
Rachel was born on May 17, 1932, to the late George & Vitaline (Bouchard) Pepin. She spent most of her life in Northbridge and then moved to Uxbridge in 2008.
She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, and it was always a better day when they won a game. She also enjoyed reading, especially Tom Clancy novels. In her younger days, she enjoyed skiing and snowmobiling from her camp in Campton, NH. That was a special place for Rachel and her late husband Robert, and they had spent many weekends there over the years. She also loved trips to Ogunquit, ME during the summer months. Her favorite times were spent with her family, gathering for holidays and special occasions.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, May 9th at 11 A.M in Good Shepherd Church, 121 Linwood St., Linwood. Burial will follow at St Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held prior to Mass from 9-10:30 A.M. at Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St, Whitinsville.
