Uxbridge- Philip G. LaBounty Jr., 71, of Snowling Rd., passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer, with his loving family at his side.
He is survived by 2 children, Timothy P. LaBounty and his wife Melissa of Whitinsville, and Alyson Tellier and her longtime boyfriend Joel Lafreniere of Uxbridge; his longtime girlfriend, Laura Hamelin; a granddaughter, Brielle Kennett and her husband Taydon of Chepatchet, RI; his former wife, Guyanne ”Cookie” Dupree of Worcester; 2 brothers Gary L. LaBounty of Milford, and Wayne M. LaBounty of Florida; his good friend Joe Gazaille of Uxbridge, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Dianne E. Weger in 2009.
Born in Framingham on March 27, 1952 Phil grew up in Medway and was a graduate of Medway High School class of 1970. He worked many years for Foster Forbes Glass Co. in Milford as a Journeyman Machinist and after retirement for Bob’s Auto in Uxbridge as an appointment scheduler.
A skilled artist, he was a member of Mass Car Model Club and enjoyed building Scale models of cars, sci-fi and fantasy figures. He had won many awards for his craftsmanship over the years. An avid reader, he often referenced the characters in his models from novels he had read. He was mechanically talented and liked tinkering in his garage on old cars and trucks. Phil also took pleasure in caring for his vegetable and flower gardens.
Phil’s calling hours will be held on Sunday, Aug. 20th from 1-4 PM in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge. His burial will be privately held at a later date in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Uxbridge. In lieu of flowers, donations in Phil’s memory may be made to: Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
