North Port, FL- Peter L. Yacino, 58, of Badali Rd., formerly of Douglas, MA, passed away on May, 19 2026 in Tidewell Hospice House, Venice, Florida. Peter was surrounded by his children and former spouse, who provided care, compassion, and love to Peter in his final days.
He is survived by his 4 children Michal Yacino of North Port, FL, Destiny Yacino of Boca Raton, FL, Louis Yacino and his wife Maria of Venice, FL and Amanda Hubbard of Gainsville, FL; his mother Jo-Ann (Napierata) Yacino and her companion Pat Arbolino of Winter Haven, FL; his father Joseph A. Yacino and his wife Sandra (Messier) of Douglas, MA; his beloved grandson Louis, who he adored; his three brothers Joseph “Jody” and his husband Bryan of Jensen Beach FL, Christopher Yacino and his wife Susan of Dudley, MA, Eric J. Saviano and his wife Erin of Northbridge; his sister Jamie L. Saviano and her fiancé Bob Martin of Millville, MA; his former wife Misty (Hubbard) Yacino and her fiancé Terry Graham of Boca Raton, FL; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Joanna R. Rhody, who passed away on November 8, 1989.
Born in Milford, MA on January 25, 1968, he was raised in Douglas, MA before moving to Florida, where he resided for the last 35 years.
Known for his strong work ethic, Peter took on many roles over the years. They included being a chef at multiple restaurants, working in the Sheriff’s Department, a school bus driver, and a sanitation truck driver before his passing.
Peter was particularly proud to have served as Head Chef to the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps. He was also passionate about his endeavors with chiropractic massage therapy.
Peter also played the trombone for the McDonald’s High School Band in the 1985 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and in 1986 Peter was chosen as a representative of the New England States to tour with the Red Band of “Bands Abroad” through Europe.
Peter was a graduate of Douglas Memorial High School, Class of 1986. He was a longtime member and leader in the Boy Scouts of America, loved riding his motorcycle, was active with the Arcadia All-Florida Championship Rodeo, and was a member of the Edgewater Church in Port Charlotte.
Though he made his home in Florida, Peter cherished returning to Massachusetts with his children to spend time with his parents and siblings.
