Whitinsville/Sutton- Peter W. Michalik, 82, of Eight Lots Rd., formerly of Edgemere Ave in Whitinsville died suddenly Tues. Oct. 22 after being stricken ill.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 12 years Viola R. (Taber) Michalik; 4 step-children Donna Malliaros of Milton, Paula Young of Douglas, Jeffrey Rondeau of Whitinsville, and Randy Rondeau of Sutton; 6 grandchildren; 2 great granddaughters; several nieces, nephews; and his dog Miki. He was brother of the late Alfreda T. Michalik and Adolph P. “Mickey” Michalik. Born in Whitinsville on Oct. 15, 1931 he was the son of Peter A. Sr. and Sophie (Cichonski) Michalik. He was a lifelong resident of Whitinsville, residing in Sutton the past 12 years.
Mr. Michalik worked as an assembler at the former Whitin Machine Works, White Consolidated, and ATF Davidson Co. over 30 years. He also owned and operated his own Christmas tree farm on Edgemere Ave for many years. He enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, and being outdoors. He was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Sutton.
His funeral will be held from Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St., Whitinsville on Sat. Oct. 26 with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 356 Boston Rd., Sutton. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sat.
