Douglas- Paul N. Boutiette, 79, of Wallis St., passed away suddenly at home on Sat. Sept. 21, 2024.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Beth A. (Johnson) Boutiette; 3 children, Gregory P. Boutiette of Webster, Bruce E. Boutiette of Otis, MA, and Pamela J. Orphin and her husband Tom of Douglas; 3 grandchildren, Paul and his wife Hannah Boutiette of Quincy, Breanna and her wife Emily Napolitano of Abington, and Isabella Gervais and her boyfriend Brandon of N. Grosvenordale, CT; his aunt Edna L’Esperance of Linwood; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends. As an only child, Paul inherited 6 sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law when he married Beth. He leaves in-laws Karen Johnson, Susan Blum, Verna and Vaughn Harding, Veryll and Dan Fulone, Colleen and Roger Prue, and Sonny and Kathy Johnson. Born in Whitinsville on March 6, 1945, he was the son of Paul H. and Viola J. (Bigos) Boutiette and was a lifelong resident of Douglas. A 1963 graduate of Douglas High School, Paul furthered his education at Worcester Junior College.
Mr. Boutiette was employed as a Budget Analyst and Departmental Head of Administrative services for New England Power Co., PG and E Corp., U.S Generating Company, and Dominion Power, working in their Westboro and Salem offices. He also spent a year working in Vermont. His career spanned over 45+ years, and he retired in 2008. After retirement he then worked for Jackson Hewett Tax Company and part-time for Westboro Storage Co. for over 10 years, He was in the U.S National Guard and served the Town of Douglas as a Selectman and member of the Finance Committee.
Paul enjoyed hunting, mostly in Maine, where he made lifelong friends. He enjoyed road trips and traveling, shopping, ice cream runs, and watching sports. A Jeep enthusiast, he attended many Jeep Camps over the years. He coached and umpired Little League back in the day and loved boating on the Rez.
Truly one of a kind, Paul will be remembered as funny, quick-witted, and outgoing. His door was always open, and everyone was welcome in his home. He will be missed by those who knew him.
His Funeral Mass will be held Friday, September 27th, at 11 am in St Denis Church, 23 Manchaug St. Calling hours at Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St., are Thursday, September 26th, from 4 to 7 pm.
