Patricia A. (Tancrell) Flynn

Uxbridge- Patricia A. (Tancrell) Flynn, 89, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on June 20, 2026 at Newfield House in Plymouth, MA.

Born and raised in Uxbridge, Massachusetts, Pat was the devoted daughter of the late W. Henry Tancrell and M. Eugenie (Rioux) Tancrell. She grew up alongside her beloved siblings, Fr. Luke Tancrell, O.P., Roger H. Tancrell, and Priscilla J. (Tancrell) Machacz. Throughout her life, she made her home in Worcester, Holden, East Greenwich, and Duxbury, carrying her warmth, faith, and creative spirit wherever she lived.

Education and the arts were lifelong passions for Pat. She graduated from the Worcester Museum School of Art, continued her studies at Assumption University, and earned a degree in Fine Arts from Clark University. Her artistic talent, appreciation for beauty, and thoughtful perspective enriched both her professional endeavors and her daily life.

On June 27, 1964, Pat married Mike, the love of her life, at St. Mary’s Church in Uxbridge. Together, they built a family rooted in love, kindness, and faith, sharing more than six decades of marriage.  Pat was a devoted and loving mother to Cathleen O'Neill and her husband, John, of New York City; Timothy Flynn and his wife, Michelle, of Duxbury, Massachusetts; and Michael Flynn and his wife, Mary, of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

Nothing brought Pat greater joy than her grandchildren—Matty, William, and Jack O’Neill, and Jack, Patrick, and Sam Flynn. She celebrated their accomplishments, encouraged their aspirations, and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them.

Blessed with a remarkable artistic talent, her art was woven throughout her life and became one of the many ways she touched others. Her unique style of watercolor painting earned recognition from the Rhode Island Watercolor Society, the Warwick Arts Foundation, the Wickford Art Association, the East Greenwich Art Club, and the Providence Art Club. With Mike’s steadfast support, Pat became a beloved fixture at the Wickford Art Festival, returning year after year to her signature corner spot and exhibiting paintings that now reside in many public and private collections.

The Flynn family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated and compassionate staff of Newfield House for the exceptional care, kindness, and dignity they provided to Pat. Their support and unwavering commitment brought great comfort to Pat and her family and will always be remembered with deep appreciation. The family would also like to express their sincere thanks to Cranberry Hospice for the compassionate care, support, and comfort they provided throughout Pat’s journey. Their kindness and dedication were a source of strength to both Pat and her loved ones.

Patricia’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, in St. Mary's Church, 77 Mendon Street, Uxbridge, MA. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation in the church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the Mass. Following the Mass, burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, after which all are welcome to join the family for a continued celebration of Patricia’s life in the parish hall.
