Noreen Morgan Obituary

Worcester- Noreen Edna Morgan, 61, passed away at her home, unexpectedly, on Friday, October 22, 2021.

Born in Worcester on January 24, 1960, she was the daughter of James and Kathleen (Connell) Lindsey, and one of 7 children.  During her formative years, Noreen grew up in the Vernon Hill section of Worcester and graduated from Worcester High School.  Noreen moved to central Florida in the early 1980s and worked as an assistant manager at a McDonald’s storefront.  Her time in Florida endeared her to the sun, warm weather and sandy beaches, which she talked about regularly throughout her life.  Noreen ultimately relocated back to Massachusetts to be near family, and worked as a bookkeeper, and then as a Registered Nurse at Crescent Manor Nursing Home in Grafton, which she enjoyed until her retirement.

Despite life’s ups and downs, Noreen always handled things with strength and grace, and her motivational saying was always “Chin up”.  Her children refer to her as a “Trooper” and say that the trials and tribulations she faced did not deter her, but made her the strong-willed woman she was up until her death.  Noreen enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her children, grandchildren and her sister, Patricia (Pat), going out to eat, or seeing a movie.

She is survived by her 4 children, Kerstin Cochran (Wayne) of Tampa, FL, Matthew Matos (Kyleen) of Fitchburg, Christopher Matos of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Brandon Matos of Worcester; 8 grandchildren whom she adored, Grayson and McKinley Cochran, Emmanuel, Brandon, Nathaniel and Kylies Matos, Aiden Matos, and Domenick Matos; her siblings, Patricia Cote of Douglas, Brian Lindsey of Warren, RI, and Kevin Lindsey of Northampton; an aunt, Sheila Conrad of Fishkill, NY; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Noreen was preceded in death by her parents, James and Kathleen Lindsey, her companion of many years, Joseph Matos, and 3 brothers, Michael, James and Dennis.

Noreen’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 20th at 1PM in Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St., Douglas.  Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 11:00-1PM. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Grafton. To leave a condolence message for her family, please visit: http://www.Jackmanfuneralhomes.com.
