Nancy D'Amore Obituary

Sutton- Nancy Jane (Bergenholtz) D’Amore,76, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 1, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her adoring husband of 54 years, Paul G. D’Amore; 2 daughters, Tracey D’Amore Sutch and her husband Jeffrey of Tewksbury, NJ; Alyssa D’Amore of Sutton and her fiancé Anthony Martocci; her sister, Joan Pelkey of Grafton; her adored grandchildren, James Sutch and Jaclyn Sutch, nieces, nephews, and many close friends who were like family.

Born in Worcester, MA on August 5, 1946 she was the daughter of Edward and Gladys (Sheehan) Bergenholtz. She was proud to be from the Grafton Hill area of Worcester, and was a graduate of Commerce High school class of 1964. She met her soulmate Paul at Liberty Mutual Ins. Co. where they both worked in 1967. They soon married and lived in East Douglas, then  moved to Sutton where they have lived for 50 years. Nancy started her own limousine business, Prestige Limousine, where she enjoyed supplying vehicles for all occasions, especially weddings. Her and Paul have resided part time in Pompano Beach, FL since 2002, a dream they both always shared.

She was a very talented woman, making flower arrangements, especially Ikebana (ancient Japanese flower arranging), home decorating, and crafting. She also enjoyed travelling the world, visiting many beautiful places and museums, and experiencing different cultures. Above all, she was a devout family woman and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

A woman of great faith, over the years she was a member of St. Denis Church in Douglas,  St. Mark’s Church in Sutton, and Assumption Catholic Church in Lauderdale by the Sea, FL, where she volunteered every year making fresh flower crowns for the Blessed Mother in the month of May. She also did charity work every year collecting for the Bishop’s Fund and giving to those in need.

Her funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 8th at 10 AM in St. Denis Church, 23 Manchaug St., Douglas. Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 7th from 4-7 PM.
