Whitinsville- Michael M. Desjourdy, 69, passed away on Mon. Oct. 30, 2017 at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester after an illness. He is survived by his partner in crime and the love of his life, wife of 49 years Kathleen A. (Sullivan) Desjourdy.
Michael is also survived by 3 children; Robert George and his wife Mary of Spencer, Amee Desjourdy and her husband Troy Preble of Lexington, and Leslie Chaves and her husband Joe of Charlton, 5 grandchildren; Robert and his wife Shannon, Timothy and his companion Harmony, Mackenzie, Harry, Stella, and Ethan. He was predeceased by 3 siblings; Joseph and Jack Desjourdy, and Maryann McCrory.
Born in Whitinsville on July 24, 1948 he was the son of Alfred and Rose (Duso) Desjourdy and grew up and lived in Whitinsville most his life until his move to Charlton in 1999. He worked as a machinist for the Reed Rolled Thread Dye Co. for 30 years until his retirement. Michael was a kind, quiet, and funny guy, a family man above all, he loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching Jeopardy, traveling to the Caribbean, and playing with his cockapoo “Lola”.
His funeral will be held from Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St. Whitinsville on Thurs. Nov. 2 with a Funeral Mass at 11am. in St. Patrick’s Church, 1 Cross St. Whitinsville. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held prior from 9-10:30am.
