Uxbridge-Michael Banes D’Amico, 47, of Mont. Vernon, NH formerly of East Granby, CT died Tues. May 12 at his home. He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Diana L. (D’Andrea) D’Amico; 2 children, Rachael J. D’Andrea and Dominic M. D’Amico with whom he lived; his father Stephen D'Amico of Naples, FL and 2 brothers Christopher D’Amico of Marlborough, CT and Jason D’Amico of Middletown, CT; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by his mother Sandra (Banes) D’Amico of Naples, FL; Robert and Rita Banes (Lachapelle) of Uxbridge, MA, and an infant brother Bradley D'Amico. Born in Milford, MA on Sept. 22, 1967 he grew up in East Granby, CT and moved to New Hampshire in 1998 where he raised his family.
He was a graduate of North West Catholic High School in West Hartford, CT and attended Eastern Connecticut State University. He served in the U.S Army as a Military Police Officer in Germany from 1986 through1989. He worked as a prison guard for the Ft. Devens Federal Prison. Mike enjoyed sports, especially soccer, baseball, hockey and college hockey, football and being outdoors fishing. He loved the ocean, with Cape Cod and Block Island being his favorite spots. He especially loved just being with his family.
His funeral service will be held on Tues. May 19 at 3:00 p.m. in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge. Cremation will follow.
