Mary Lou Mioduszewski Obituary

Whitinsville- Mary Lou (Witek) Mioduszewski, 77, passed away on Thurs., Dec. 21, 2023 after being stricken ill with pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Daniel C. Mioduszewski.

            She is also survived by 2 sons, Jeffrey D. Mioduszewski and his wife Chelsea of Clearwater, FL, and Timothy of Malibu, CA; 3 grandchildren, Mason, Maverick, and Maddox; 3 siblings, Mickey S. Witek and his wife Nancy of Holden, Patty J, Bratlie and her husband Kip of Sutton, and Peg L. Mehuron and her husband Bruce of Waitsfield, VT; her sister-in-law, Joan Malinowski of Charlton, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Katherine S. Witek

            Born in Worcester on October 18, 1946 she was the daughter of Stanley A.  “Duke” and Lucy A. (Kuras) Witek and grew up in the Linwood section of Uxbridge and then moved to Rivulet Pond. She was a graduate of Uxbridge high school class of 1964 and furthered her education earning a Bachelors from Worcester State University in 1968. Mary Lou worked as an elementary school teacher for  many years in S. Windsor CT, Hopedale and Uxbridge Public schools before her retirement in 2003. After her retirement she also worked as a substitute for several years. 

           A woman of great faith, Mary Lou was a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Church where she also taught catechism and was on the Baptism committee for many years. She would continuously refresh her prayer list for those in need, always keeping her rosary in her pocket book for easy access.  

              She was an avid cook with many family recipes enjoyed by all over the years, as well as an outstanding baker especially of cakes for all special occasions. She enjoyed her daily walks with her loving husband as well as any other family or friend who wanted to join. She grew up in a family of musicians and enjoyed playing the accordian. Her favorite libation was her two glasses of Chardonnay enjoyed daily,before dinner. She was blessed to take many family vacations to locations such as Bermuda, Jamaica, Hawaii, London and visiting her boys in Clearwater Fl, and Malibu CA. For many years the family would take two weeks down in Dennisport on Cape Cod or Camp Ellis in Maine, creating lifetime memories. 

             Lastly she loved people, her friends and family meant everything to her, and she was constantly willing to have parties and social gatherings at her home where she was the consummate “hostess with the mostest”. 

She was a resident of Whitinsville for 42 years before moving to Charlton by the Lake in 2017.

         Her funeral Mass will be held on Friday Jan 5th at 11 AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Uxbridge. Calling hours will be held on Thursday Jan 4th from 4-7 PM in Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St., Whitinsville.
