Douglas-Mary P. (Bahleda) Dtugocenski, 96, previously of Main St. died Thurs. Aug. 22 after a short illness. Her husband of 50 years Bennie Dtugocenski predeceased her on March 17, 1988. She is survived by 2 nieces and 3 nephews, as well as several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Anna Mielnicki and Frances Hachey. Born in Douglas on Dec. 15, 1916 she was the daughter of John and Anna (Bombara) Bahleda and lived in Douglas all of her life. She was educated in the Douglas Public School system and worked as a spooler at the Haywood-Schuster Woolen Co. for 30 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Denis Church and belonged to the St. Anne Society. She enjoyed going to the Douglas Sr. Center and also volunteered at the elections for the Town of Douglas, sewing, knitting, crochet, and was an avid bowler. Mary also loved to travel her last big trip being to the Czech Republic. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mary's caregivers Tara, Ashlee, Paula, and Mitzy for the love, care, and comfort they provided over the last several years.
Her funeral will be held on Tues. Aug. 27 from Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St., Douglas with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Denis Church, 21 Manchaug St. Burial will follow in St. Denis Cemetery.
