Mary D'Alfonso Obituary
Whitinsville -Mary M. (Minnihan) D’Alfonso, 94, formerly of Marion Dr., Whitinsville passed away on Mon. May 16, 2022 at Advinia Care in Northbridge where she had been a resident the past 5 years. Her husband of 63 years, George D’Alfonso died Nov. 1, 2016.
She is survived by her 4 children Linda Boucher and her husband Alan of Douglas, Philip D’Alfonso of Uxbridge, Robert D’Alfonso and his wife Susan of Whitinsville and James D’Alfonso of Whitinsville; 2 grandchildren Andrew Boucher and Daniel Boucher and his wife Jill; and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Walter Minnihan, Patricia Shay, and Richard Minnihan. Born in Northbridge, MA on Dec. 31, 1927 she was the daughter of Walter and Madeline (Johnson) Minnihan and lived in Whitinsville over 55 years.
Mrs. D’Alfonso worked many years as a Nurse’s Aide for several area hospitals, including Whitinsville and Milford Hospitals. She took great pride being a caregiver. Previously she worked at the former Whitin Machine Works. She was a longtime member of St.Peter’s Church in Northbridge. Mary enjoyed arts and crafts, especially making holiday decorations, walking, and baking treats for her family. She also liked spending time with her family and friends.
