Douglas- Mary M. (Jankowski) Bombara, 92, passed away peacefully on Thurs. Aug. 19, 2021 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, John P. Bombara in 2010.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Strout of Worcester; 5 grandchildren, Stephen J. Strout and his wife Meghan of Douglas, James Strout of Worcester, Andrew Strout and his wife Danielle of Cicero, NY, Roger Strout of Worcester, and Julie Murray of Gastonia, NC. She was also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was also predeceased by 2 children, Thomas Bombara and Brenda Murray, and 10 siblings, Helen Frazier, Winifred LaFountain, Celia Majka, Florence Makara, Stella Penkala, and Frank, John, William and Stanley Jankowski, and Edward Jans.
Born in Dudley on Sept. 28, 1928 she was the daughter of John and Marguerite Niezuh and grew up in Dudley. She worked many years for Pollyfoam, Inc. and was a longtime resident of Douglas, and member of the St. Anne’s Society. She enjoyed needle-working, puzzles, reading, and especially spending time with her family.
Mary’s memorial funeral will be held on Sat. Sept. 11th at 11 AM in St. Denis Church, 23 Manchaug St., Douglas. Burial will follow in St. Denis Cemetery. Calling hours at Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St., Douglas will be held prior to mass from 9:30- 10:30.
