Uxbridge- Martha E. (Havalotti) Racicot, 99, passed away on Sun. May 9, 2021 at Blackstone Valley Health and Rehab after a period of declining health. She was predeceased by her loving husband Winfred E. Racicot in 1981.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie M. Stevens and her husband Mark of Uxbridge; 3 grandchildren, Jeremy M. Stevens and his wife Stephanie of Millville, Jesse L. Stevens and his wife Jennifer of Stafford, CT, and Carrie E. Stevens of Uxbridge; 4 great-grandchildren, Attley, Gavin, Brenten, and Josslyn Stevens. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, including Tracy Pomeroy with whom she was very close. She was predeceased by her brothers, James, Joseph, Patrick and Ernie Havalotti, her sisters, Catherine Cote, Theresa Racicot and most recently her niece, Beverly Bauman whom Martha helped raise.
Born in Uxbridge, MA on April 18, 1922, she was the daughter of Pasquale and Elizabeth (Menard) Havalotti was a lifelong resident of Uxbridge, growing up on Quarry Hill. Martha worked as a spinner for the former Waucantuck Mills for many years. A hardworking woman she loved spending time outside. Whether it be working in her garden in summer or shoveling snow in the winter, she enjoyed the serenity of being outdoors. She was a sweet and caring person always willing to help out family and friends, who always visited people and never showed up emptyhanded. A woman of great faith, she was a devout Catholic and member of St. Mary’s Church.
Her Memorial Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary’s Church at 11am on Sat. May 22, 2021. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
