Mark Smith Obituary

Douglas- Mark S. “Smitty” Smith, 64, of Bridge St. in Blackstone, formerly of Douglas passed away unexpectedly on Monday May 18, 2026 at his home after being stricken ill.

     He is survived by his two brothers Andrew E. Smith and his wife Holly and James R. “Jimmy” Smith, both of N. Grosvenordale, CT; and several nieces and nephews. His brother Kenneth A. Smith died June 9, 2020. Born in Worcester, MA on November 21, 1961, he was son of the late Andrew A. and Shirley M. (Guertin) Smith and was raised in Douglas.

     Mark was employed as an Electronic Technician for Lenze Americas Corp. in Uxbridge for 36 years, retiring in January of this year. A graduate of Douglas High School, Mark loved his Boston sports teams. He was funny and enjoyed photography, watching movies, and spending time with his buddies at Walker’s Pub.

     Following cremation, his family will celebrate his life privately. Burial will be with his parents in St. Denis Cemetery, Douglas. To leave a condolence message for his family please visit jackmanfuneralhomes.com
